The particular group of R. Krishnaraj, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Madhavaram, obtained details about the smuggling of tobacco merchandise from Bengaluru into Chennai through Krishnagiri.
“Empty vehicles go from Chennai within the night to Krishnagiri and are handed over to the smuggling group in Bengaluru. They load tobacco merchandise and hand over the automobiles to a different group, which then returns to Chennai from Krishnagiri. It’s then taken to warehouses close to Minjur and packed into smaller packets. They’re then carried to sub-dealers throughout the town by daybreak in smaller automobiles,” a police officer mentioned.
A complete of seven.6 tonnes of contraband and eight vehicles had been seized. Three folks had been arrested and extra arrests can be made within the coming days, the police mentioned.
