Houghton bookstore closes after 17 years of business

HOUGHTON, Mich. (WLUC) – On Saturday, a well known bookstore in Houghton stated goodbye to its clients.

Bookworm Books & Espresso served clients one final time all day. Last purchases ranged from kids’s literature to ice cream.

The shop opened within the space in 2004, and had been in Downtown Houghton for no less than 12 years.

The store’s proprietor, Arthur Lampinen, says he’s going to overlook the folks probably the most.

“We’ve made some wonderful pals,” he stated. “Will probably be unhappy to go away these wonderful people who we now have met over all these years.”

“It’s very inviting and really pleasant,” stated shopper Chris Almquist. “I’ve at all times loved each second I’ve been in right here.”

Lampinen will probably be shifting to De Smet, South Dakota to be nearer to household. He plans to maneuver his Bookworm retailer to that location.
